This site was built to make translated CDC guidelines on Coronavirus accessible to Indonesian speakers. The information translated in these documents were taken from “Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19): Frequently Asked Questions” which was accessed from the CDC Website from the 28th of March until the 3rd of April, 2020.
This document started after a report on Elmhurst, Queens residents contracting COVID-19 at an alarming rate. On the 25th of March, 280 New York City residents died because of COVID-19. On the first of April, within a week, 1,374 people died from COVID-19.

In the United States, there are over 113,000 Indonesian-Americans, and only 68% are English Proficient. Elmhurst, Queens has a large Indonesian-American population but the CDC does not have information about Coronavirus and COVID-19 in Bahasa Indonesia. A group of volunteer translaters led by Antonius (Oki) Wiriadjaja worked together online to translate this information to our Indonesian speaking brothers and sisters in Queens, New York.
